Greetings!

WEEEE'RE BAAAAACK!

Many of you have asked what happened to the newsletter.  Simple. Spring and Summer happened!

Labor Day. Kids are back in school. Vacations are over. Traditionally it's the end of summer. In my neck of the woods, September is probably my favorite month when it comes to weather. The temps are still warm, but not overbearing.

There is still a lot of business to wind up, but the end is in sight. It's now the time when we start planning the winter, the so-called "off-season." Throughout my career, the "off-season" is never "off." It's always been the time to reflect on the past season, and prepare for the next. Stay tuned for our winter course offerings which, I hope, will be part of your plans.

Sincerely,

American Academy of Landscape Design

Headshot of Jeffrey Scott! LandscapeLeadership.com
On September 23 and 24, I'll be taking part in a FREE two-part teleseminar sponsored by APLD along with Jeffrey Scott (right). Chris Heiler, editor of LandscapeLeadership.com, and a professional landscape designer is the moderator.

The topics are "Understanding the Value of Design" and "Surviving in a Struggling Economy." Go sign up! It's FREE!

As for Jeffrey Scott, I've been talking to him a bit in the last week or so, and he's got a lot to say. He also has some FREE STUFF, if you visit his web site, including an article entitled the "13 Biggest Mistakes In Direct Marketing."

Lastly, Jeffrey Scott is now offering something called Leader's Edge. Basically it's a Peer Group where people in similar businesses, with similar concerns, get together in a non-competitive environment and help each other out. Jeffrey is the very capable organizer and facilitator. Here is how he describes it:

The Leaders Edge is a program for landscape business owners, who want to work in a small group format, to discuss burning issues and best practices, and learn to better manage and grow their business.

It's intriguing and not yet described on his web site. For an article on the program, or for more info, contact Jeffrey directly at jeff@jeffreyscott.biz. Tell him Tim sent you!
